Dr. YY Choong obtained his basic medical degree at University Malaya in 1990. He did his postgraduate training in Ophthalmology at the Department of Ophthalmology, Hospital Kuala Lumpur from 1992 to 1996. Subsequently, he obtained a Master’s degree in Ophthalmology from the National University of Singapore and was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom in 1996.

Besides providing comprehensive eye care, Dr. YY Choong chose to spend 18 months of sub-specialized training in the Corneo-plastic unit and eye bank of the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, UK. He is currently a sub-specialist in corneal diseases and refractive surgery. Therefore he is a Specialist  in treating corneal diseases and is able to perform various types of corneal surgeries.

 Dr. YY Choong’s quality medical care has earned him unprecedented recognition throughout his field of specialization and the ophthalmic community locally. He has participated actively in the following:
